  1. Channel :

* The first section from P/stn to outer road “Hon Mot” area, the distance : 10NM, width  : 300M, depth :  

  -10.8M chart datum.

* The second section from “Hon Mot” to Hon Gay inner anchorage, the distance : 08NM, width : 130M, depth : - 9.7M chart datum.

* The third section from Hongay inner anchorage to Cailan berth (berth No.5,6,7), the distance : 03NM, width : 130M, depth : - 8.0M chart datum.

The dredging work is in progress which would be completed after 04 months later and the depth of channel will be 9.2M at chart datum (zero tide) after dredging completed.

* The depth of channel from berth No.5 to berth No.1 : - 4.6M chart datum,  width : 120M.

    2. Air draft:

     The height of  Bai Chay bridge crossing overhead the  inner channel  is 50M.

In actual, the Panamax vessel (DWT/75,000; LOA/225M; cargo qtty on board : 35,000MT) has been arranged to come alongside berth No.5&6 for handling cargo smoothly and safety at Cailan port.

  • Discharging/Loading rate:

      * Discharging rate:

-  For bulk cargo as fertilizer... will be abt 2,000mt/WWD base on 3 – 4 working gangs if bagging operation and abt 3,000mt/wwd if discharging direct ashore (berth no.1, 5, 6).

     Disch. method:  by ship’s gears and shore cranes combination.

  • For wheat in bulk will be abt 3,500mt/WWD by unloader/ belt conveyor system at berth No.1 and abt 4,500mt/wwd at berth No.5 & 6.
  • For other cargoes such as steel scrap, equipment,…will be basing on size of cgo.

     Disch. method:  by ship’s gears and shore cranes combination.

  • For container (berth no.7) – Handling about 25 – 30 teus/hour.

* Loading rate:

- For wood chips : will be abt 6,000mt/wwd – Loading by 01 movable shore conveyor belt system.

- For Apatit ore, coal…will be abt 5,000mt/wwd if cargo readiness.

  • Bunkering , Fresh water and provisions  are available at the port.
